Methodology
Given that Mormonism is a complex and controversial religion, the goal of this handbook is to provide concise, bullet-pointed facts.
-
Topics that are trivial or lack adequate documentation are avoided.
-
Most quotations and references are from LDS leaders (‘General Authorities’) and church affiliated and friendly sources.
-
All quotations were transcribed with the aim of preserving their verbatim nature, which meant leaving any misspellings, grammar, and punctuation errors intact. In cases where a misspelling made a word difficult to pronounce or understand, minor spelling corrections were made. Additionally, some punctuation was added where necessary to improve the readability of the text.
-
Titles used in citations are generally of the highest church position held by that person.
-
Most biblical quotations are from the King James Version, unless otherwise noted.
-
Reputable professionals are quoted in their field of expertise.
-
The handbook employs artistic replicas of the individuals to help bring their quotes to life. Third-party photos are used upon the belief that they belong to the public domain and/or that their use falls under Fair Use Law.
